About Red Clay

Encompassing all genres of music into their sound, BARON (MC/Producer/+),Ten Chakar (Producer/DJ/+), General Lou (Hypeman) are Red Clay. Red Clay was featured in "The Source" magazine's "Unsigned Hype" column, which led to recording the pilot episode for the "The Source Sound Lab" on The UPN Network. By 2003, Red Clay released their debut project entitled Da Royal Era. Performing at Universities all across the country, and New York City hot spots such as The Knitting Factory, CBGB's and S.O.B's, Red Clay have been recognized as true crowd motivators. They have performed with and opened for artist such as Dead Prez, Common, Talib Kweli, & Three 6 Mafia. In 2007, they became members of The Rawkus 50 (Rawkus Records), showcasing the hottest emerging Hip-Hop talent from the NYC indie scene, and released the album Rawkus 50 Presents The Red Dawn on November 26, 2007. Most recently, Red Clay released their buzz worthy album entitled, Rugged Soul on March 4, 2011.
