About Pythagoras

Three unrelated artists named Pythagoras are both scrobbled on this page. 1.) Pythagoras were Bob de Jong (drums, bass, el.piano, Sony TCs 310) and René de Haan (all synth, mellotron church organ). A Dutch prog band. The two albums by Pythagoras sound totally different and very tasteful: the first is cosmic oriented synthesizer music and their second is a wonderful blend of some spacey synthesizer - and classical music with bombastic symphonic rock featuring Arjen Lucassen (who later got fame with his Ayreon project) delivering a Gilmourian guitar solo and Michel Van Wassem (who recently plays in the new Plackband line-up) with some majestic Mellotron eruptions. Both albums are still not available on CD 2.) For the Electronic group from Athens, Ohio, go here: http://www.myspace.com/itspythagorastime 3.) Pythagoras is a Death Metal band from Long Beach, California formed in 2016 that's influenced by bands such as Archspire, Death, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, and Jungle Rot. Though labeled as Death Metal they draw from various genres of metal including Thrash, Tech, and Groove Metal. As of 2019 they have a 4 track EP released titled "Active Shooter."
