German pop-singer Rüdiger "Purple" Schulz teamed up with Kami Manns, former member of hip-hop group Basis, to release a new version of his single Sehnsucht for his 1999's Sehnsucht (Die Balladen 1984–1999) compilation. The song reached place 15 in Germany on 15th March 1999 and spent 16 weeks on the charts; thus charting higher than any of the singles Basis released.
