Puntila is Alistair Roberts, website - puntila.co.uk, born 1960 in Redhill Surrey, he has been working in the field of music for nearly 30 years, he has a long time fascination with the recording process starting in the mid seventies when he managed to persuade his father to lend him a dictaphone, later in the early eighties he experimented with a two channel Revox tape recorder and now in the digital age he has fulfilled a long desired dream to have a home studio which is compact, designer white, sits politely on his desk and most of the time does not cause him to despair. Puntila's music is 100% derived from acoustic instruments played by himself, certainly no samples used, which he then subjects to various treatments that have been designed by other people far cleverer than he.
