About Public Foot The Roman
An extraordinary and pioneering progressive rock band from the UK, PUBLIC FOOT THE ROMAN released one self titled album in 1973 in both the UK and USA. (Sovereign Records in the UK, Capitol in the USA). They featured prominently on the UK college circuit and on the more forward looking radio shows of the time. The band lineup was Sean Byrne (vocals, guitar and prime songwriter), Greg Knowles (guitar), Jamie Lane (drums), Dag Small (keyboards) and Howard Tweddle (bass), The group eventually transformed into THE MOVIES, who further developed the music and were almost on the verge of a breakthrough when Punk Rock changed the musical climate and thwarted their further success.
