The Psychedelic Aliens, a.k.a. The Magic Aliens, was a band from Ghana that fused funky R&B grooves with rock-influenced guitars. They were active from 1969 to 1971, during which they released 3 EPs. The 2010 compilation "Psycho African Beat" features the complete recorded output of this group, whose music combined elements of American soul, funk, garage rock and psych with African rhythms and melodies. Their line-up was: Amartey Lash Laryea (bass guitar), Carl Ricky Telfer (lead guitar), Frankie Todd, Smart "Pozo" Thompson (drums)
