About Polar Dust

Polar Dust was originally formed in Reykjavik, Iceland in 2006 and made their debut at the Lung-A festival in 2008 in Seyðisfjörður, Iceland. After 7 years of exploring the Icelandic music scene & culture, front person Sara, returned to her homeland South Africa and reformed the band in 2010. With a lineup consisting of Mark Trafankowski on drums, Darla Dark on Bass and Sara X on vocals, guitars & programming, Polar Dust went on to perform all over Johannesburg each bringing their unique influence to the band - a genre best described as Electronic Rock. In early 2014 Shannon Lawlor (ex-Eyes Like Mirrors) joined, taking on guitar duties to bring a different, yet familiar atmosphere to the band. Polar Dust's debut album "Into The Burning Water" was released on the 8th of November 2014 and currently consists of Rhett Freeman on Bass, Mark Trafankowksi on drums and Sara X on Vocals, guitar & programming polardust.bandcamp.com
