Perfumed Garden

About Perfumed Garden

Named after John Peel's much-loved summer-of-1967 Radio London show, Perfumed Garden from Liverpool, United Kingdom, were a short-lived British psychedelic band of the 1960s. Live-up: Charlie Berwick (vocals), Barry Cohen (keyboards), John Fitzgibbon (lead guitar), Les Higgins (bass) and Peter Pates (drums). They self-financed a demo in early 1968. Two covers ('A Girl Like You' by The Young Rascals and 'Cover Girl' by Skip Bifferty) were cut to acetate, but the group failed to land a recording contract and - after a year of local gigging - folded in 1969.
