About Pepita

Priscila Nogueira, better known as Pepita, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and dancer. She is notorious for being one of the first transsexual funkeiras in Brazil, and her work is often associated with LGBTQ + activism. Pepita started her career as a funk dancer. While performing in Rio nightclubs, the singer was presented with the song "Tô a Busca de um Homem" by a friend, and immediately launched into her musical career. Her first show was in the city of São Paulo. In 2014, a video of the dancing artist was leaked on the internet, without Pepita's consent. With the viralization of the video, the artist quickly reached great visibility and several new fans, becoming a meme of frequency in the gay community. The success and fame culminated in the release of the artist's first EP, entitled "Grandona pra Caralho" (one of the artist's catchphrases, which refers to the prejudiced comments made on her body). In 2017, the artist returned to the spotlight with the release of the song "Chifrudo", in partnership with drag queen Lia Clark. In January, the artist also released a new single, "Uma Vez Piranha".
