About Pechblende

Playing together for over 5 years, Adam Bergeron, Mathieu Labrecque and Pascale Dufour formed Pechblende's first incarnation in 2001 as a grindcore band called Collapse. Founded on a strong DIY work ethic and forward thinking approach, the band was always convinced of the artistic creativity and possibilities that lie within the punk genre. Thus pushing themselves further and further, Pechblende progressively wrote music that did not fit the unrelenting grindcore assault they were known for anymore. It is in 2005 that long time friend Francis Berthelot joined the band full time, helping to create the musical juggernaut it is today: more achieved, more cohesive, more melodic, and yet, even more destructive. Pechblende's debut full length, suitingly entitled Collapse, screams loud and clear the band's identity and promises in a single crushing listen all the beautiful things we can expect from the band in the future. Collapse's musical and lyrical content is as dark and bleak as its title implies, and quite honnestly, Pechblende's pessimism gives hope. 2) Anna Bengtsson. Ambient producer from Stockholm, Sweden
