About Parents
Formed in 2009, Parents have become a mainstay of the Auckland hardcore punk community. Creatively influenced by bands such as Orchid and Swing Kids and underpinned by the frantic energy of Bad Brains and Black Flag, their sound blends melody and discordance into an unpredictable, cathartic haze. Following a tour with Loma Prieta (USA) and various international support slots including Suicidal Tendencies throughout 2012, Parents prepare to release their debut 12”. Live, they perform short and sharp sets that embrace chaos and avoid restrain.
