There is more than one artist with this name, including: 1) Parchment was a British religious folk band active in the 1970s. 2) Parchment was a German heavy metal band active in the early 2000s. 1) Parchment was a British religious folk band. Formed in 1972, it consisted of Sue McClellan, John Pac, and Keith Rycroft. Their single "Light Up the Fire" became theme song of the Festival of Light, reached number 31 in the U.K. charts. They released their album Light Up the Fire in the same year. In 1973 they released a second album, Hollywood Sunset; Keith Rycroft left the band, and was replaced by Jeff Crow. Although they recorded a third album in 1974 it was never released, and Shamblejam took its place as their third album in 1975 (with new band-member Brian Smith). They split in 1978. 2) Parchment was a German heavy metal band active in the early 2000s. They released their eponymous album in 2001.
