About Parachuter

Parachuter formed as a three piece instrumental rock group in March of 2010, focusing on dynamics, mood, and sonic textures. Homage to a cold war test pilot, their name was inspired by Col. Joseph Kittinger’s experimental parachute jumps from over nineteen miles above Earth. After two months crafting a handful of songs, Parachuter tested their music on live audiences at house shows and venues around the Boston area. By December 2010, Parachuter settled down in the studio and produced a 5-track record adding a fourth member on keys to further expand their sonic palette. Launching off the February release of the mastered studio sessions, Parachuter has resumed playing shows in support of the record and the many unreleased and newly written songs in their arsenal. Appreciated by audiences as fresh and intriguing, fans of bands like Mogwai, Tool, Radiohead, Explosions in the Sky, and various experimental and post rock groups will find plenty to enjoy.
