About Orphan Songs

Carl-Otto Johansson lives in Kalmar, Sweden, and makes music under the name Orphan Songs. He was singer and songwriter in the Swedish indie band Eyedrop who split up in 2005 in the early stages of recording their second album and in the aftermath of the break-up, Carl-Otto got single custody over the songs left behind – his “Orphan Songs". Soon his family of melodies got bigger as he started writing new material and set out to record a solo album, a project that took years to complete. Produced in his home studio, Carl-Otto plays almost every instrument himself.
