Njeri's sound is best described as Lauryn Hill meets MC Lyte with Motown in the background. The June 1999 release of Wu Tang Clansman GZA/Genius’ album, Beneath the Surface, marked Njeri’s formal induction into the Hip Hop world. In 2001, Njeri was selected for a speaking role in the hip hop film 8 Mile.Her first solo album Supa Sista was released in 2005. Njeri has graced audiences throughout the nation, including in New York, Atlanta, Indiana, and Canada, gaining fans along the way.In June 2007, Njeri released her second solo effort 20-20.In spring of 2008, Njeri brought a refreshing piece of Hip Hop artistry, which will probably be recognized as a classic to underground Hip Hop heads world wide, The Best Part, Stay Tuned.
