About Newland
Newland is Alex Nieuwland, a Dutch rock singer and songwriter based in the town of Harlingen, The Netherlands. Having played in bands such as Pretty Green in his younger years, Nieuwland launched a solo career in 2015, using Newland as his moniker. April 2016 saw the release of his solo début album, Love and War, the first in a catalogue of eight albums of original material, album number eight being Trust-Hope-Love (2023). Newland's albums are very much solo endeavors, with Nieuwland playing almost every instrument himself, but he does have a backing band for Iive performances called NewLandSlide.
