About Mundi

Mundi plays music of the Old World, summoning up landscapes of thick forests, cathedrals, meditation and folk dancing. This talented band from Austin, Texas,, and is led by composer Darrel Mayers. Their sound features the soaring strings of Carolyn Hagler (cello) and Bruce Colson (violin), with Mario Gonzalez on upright bass, and Ric Furley on percussion. Twice they have toured Spain, the first time the northern area of Galicia, and the second time down south to Andalucia, and further into Morocco as well. In 2006 they released 'Apple Howling,' and in 2008 they released 'The Book & the Flower.' Main influences: Dead Can Dance, Pengiuin Cafe Orchestra, Garmarna.
