About MOZAIK

There are four groups called Mozaik: 1. A "psychedelic Jewgrass jam band" based in San Francisco, which combines klezmer with rock and improvisational jazz influences. 2. A Hungarian "jazz-folk" band which uses acoustic, classical, and modern electric instruments. 3. A Turkish fusion band founded by Ayşe Tütüncü, Bülent Somay, Mehmet Taygun, Saruhan Erim, Serdar Ateşer, Sumru Ağıryürüyen, Timuçin Gürer, and Ümit Kıvanç, active from 1983 to 1995. Their albums are: "Ölümden Önce Bir Hayat Vardır" - Live - (1983), "Ardından" (1985), "Çook Alametler Belirdi" (1988), "Plastik Aşk" (1990). 4. A folk group consisting of Ireland's Andy Irvine and Dónal Lunny (both formerly of Planxty), American old-timey fiddler and 5-string banjo player Bruce Molsky, Dutch fiddler Rens Van Der Zalm, and multi-instrumentalist Nikola Parov from Hungary.
