MIXX (hangul: 믹스), was a six-member chinese-south korean girl-group formed by Chiko Bros Entertainment in 2016. The members are Hanna (leader), Henny, Arie, LiYah, Mia, and HeeU. They debuted on May 3, 2016 as 4 members (Henny, Hanna, LiYah, and Arie) with the single “Oh Ma Mind“. MIXX strives to represent women’s lives and motives through their hip-hop and R&B based “urban music.” The first single album, titled “Oh Ma Mind,” features a simple drum sound with a gentle melody to produce a light “urban dance” song. The four girls produce a lively but soft sound with a trendy but relaxed melody. With lyrics about a girl with a crush and her sudden courage, as well as warm spring weather, it naturally catches your attention. It was produced by Jay Rockin’, who composed for many underground hip-hop musicians like Untouchable, Outsider, and more. The group has been stirring a lot of interest since they’ve been invested in by NEW, the production company behind “Descendants of the Sun” which has been extremely popular so far this year, as well as being the first girl group from Chinese media company Huace Media, which is also becoming a familiar name in the country. In 2016, Henny left Mixx. For their 2017 comeback, Love is a Sudden, members Miya and HeeYu were added to the lineup. Later in March 17, 2017, Mixx disbanded due to political conflict between China and South Korea. “While producing the first mini album, the THAAD issue broke out and political conflict between Korea and China caused by it, gave us hard times. We still tried to invite investment, but our Chinese partner Chiko Bros has dissolved the partnership unilaterally, bringing the Chinese members to their motherland without agreement.” said Mixx's company.
