About Misericord

There are more than one artist under the name Misericord. 1) Misericord are a Doom/Death Metal band from Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, thay were active from 1994 to 1997. The name Misericord comes from a weapon from the middle ages. They released 2 demo tapes, "The Shadows Follow" in 1994 and "Descend into the Clouds", in 1995. A live album "Misericord en vivo 1995" was released in 2013. In 2017 they reunited, and a promo was released the next year, "Promo 2018". 2) Misericord were a Heavy Metal/Rock/Death Metal band from Johannesburg, South Africa started 1997. They released a demo on the year 2000. 2005 saw the return of Misericord to the stage after a year long hiatus. In 2006, the first full-length titled "Another End", was released. In 2006 Nick Cook (bass) and Vic do O Filipe (drums) left the band to pursue other interests and were subsequently replaced by Kalin (Tyburn and Albino Beach) and Lias (The Narrow). A second full-length album "Requiem of the Newborn" was released in 2013. The band split-up soon after that same year.
