About Mid-Air Thief

Mid-Air Thief (Korean: 공중도둑) is one of the projects of an enigmatic folktronica musician based in South Korea. Despite having some success, he has no social media presence and has never performed live. Mr Thief started started his musical career in 2012 using the stage name Hyoo (Korean: 휴). In 2015, he changed his stage name to Public Morality (Korean: 공중도덕) and released his self-titled debut album, which was nominated for Best Modern Rock Album at the 2016 Korean Music Awards. He later changed his stage name to Mid-Air Thief after rappers Dok2 and The Quiett released a song called "Public Morality" as part of the 2016 South Korean reality competition show, Show Me the Money 5. In 2018, he released his second studio album Crumbling (무너지기), which features vocals from indie musician Summer Soul. The album was praised by the US metadata website Rate Your Music, where it is currently ranked 4th on the site's list for best albums of 2018 , with some users drawing comparisons to albums by artists Sweet Trip and Fishmans. He also records as Shadow Community (Korean: 그림자 공동체) , Bird's Eye Batang (Korean: 새눈바탕 ) and Bird's Eye Thief.
