MELANNA is a dark rock / grunge band from Latvia, Pļaviņas. Formed in the end of 2006 by Valdis Bebrišs (vocal, strings), Andris Vērdiņš (strings), Māris Baginskis (bass) and Ivo Strazdiņš (drums). In its time of exsistance Melanna has made songs that show their perception of life. The name of the band comes from a girl characters name in some painting. In some way this character has come to life and tells its story and thoughts thru this band. Band has performed on bigger and smaller stages. They have worked together with solist Juris Kaukulis from well-known latvian band Dzelzs Vilks in festival "Bildes 2008". Their song “Sarkanas” got the first place in Latviešu Radio (Latvian Radio) top.
