About Meghana Bhat
Meghana Bhat is a classically-trained sitar player from Canada. She became hooked on the instrument at the age of ten when she attended a classical Hindustani sitar concert. When she was in University she traveled to India and trained under an Indian master. The only recording to feature her is "An Indocarbonated Funk", a blending of modern beats and styles with classic Indian sounds and her own vocals. This CD was released in 2003 and credits Meghana with writing all ten of the pieces and names Krisjan Leslie as the producer. The upbeat "Really Really Happy" is an infectious piece of world fusion and highlights the most mainstream sound in the collection.
