About Mecánica Popular

Mecánica Popular can refer to two bands: Spanish band, founded in 1980 by Luis Delgado and Eugenio Munoz. The album Baku: 1922, released in 1987, was their follow up to their debut release Qué Sucede Con El Tiempo?, from 1984. After decades of silence, they released Neguentropia in 2010, and in 2020, Estridentismo. Chilean band, founded in 1997 by Manuel García and Mario Villalobos. They released Mecánica Popular in 1999, followed by La Casa de Asterión in 2000. Their third and final album, Fatamorgana, was released in 2003. After Villalobos left in 2003, García and supporting members continued to perform under the name for a brief period.
