About Dennis McCarthy
Dennis McCarthy, born July 3, 1945, is an American composer known for his work in television and film scoring. He is particularly recognised for his contributions to the Star Trek franchise, having composed music for "The Next Generation," "Deep Space Nine," "Voyager," "Enterprise," and the 1994 film "Star Trek Generations." His television credits also include series such as "Dynasty," "V," "MacGyver," "Sliders," "Dawson's Creek," and "Project Greenlight." In addition to composing, McCarthy produced the album "Ol' Yellow Eyes Is Back" by Brent Spiner, an actor from Star Trek, and has composed music for stage productions. Throughout his career, McCarthy has received 18 ASCAP awards and won a Primetime Emmy Award for the theme of "Deep Space Nine," alongside nine Emmy nominations for his Star Trek-related work. He also shares an Emmy for music direction at the 63rd Academy Awards.
