About Marlin Greene

Marlin Greene began his career as a singer and songwriter, landing recording contracts with RCA (1957) and Philips (1962), among other labels. His guitar work earned him respect in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, where he worked with Quin Ivey to produce "When a Man Loves a Woman" for Percy Sledge. Marlin Greene played lead guitar on that cut and subsequent Percy Sledge hits. Marlin Greene released a solo LP, Tiptoe Past the Dragon, on Elektra in 1972.
