Marlene Johnson, singer and songwriter has up until now been known as background singer during the latest Jah Meek Tour and guest singer at the Frankfurter Electro Club Project HACIENDA (Ministry of Sound). Marlene's voice can also be heard on the Sammy Deluxe Album "Verdammt Nochmal". She has also been lending her voice to The Frankfurt Clubproject Soulpatrol. One of the tracks by Soulpatrol has been published by Michael Reinboth on the sampler ´Future Sound of Jazz Vol. Her musical roots are Soul and Blues thanks to Daddy's taste in music. In the beginning Marlene Johnson started writing songs, later she began singing and after several years in the music business with numerous guest appearances, the combination of both resulted in her first soul roots reggae album. On November the 11th, 2005 the MARLENE JOHNSON CD "Runaway" will appear on Velocity Sounds Rec. Besides four tracks of her own, the CD will feature other tracks by Marlon B., Jah Meek, Ward 21 and House of Riddim. A large part of the tracks was developed at the House of Riddim. During the upcoming tour by Jah Meek "Touched by an Angel" in November 2005, Marlene Johnson will lend vocal support. The wonderful sultry soul voice of Marlene will refine any song and instill feelings of being carefree in the listener.
