Mark Beling

About Mark Beling

Somewhere in between writing, recording and touring with Mean Mr Mustard, producing for a range of other upcoming South African artists and the difficult job of home studio construction, Mark Beling released his debut solo album on 14 November 2005. Entitled Dancing, it is the result of many years spent drafting ideas, writing and re-writing songs, and crafting and polishing recordings. With a string of hits to his name as front man of Mean Mr Mustard (their reworking of the classic Buttercup has become somewhat of a National Anthem in SA) and more recently his solo single Dancing, his songs have dominated radio playlists countrywide. The album is the product of various musical collaborations, mostly with long-time friends and writing partners Barry and Meagan Sheare, who both co-wrote a number of tracks on the album. Mark was born in the Eastern Cape and spent his childhood in Keiskammahoek, a beautiful coastal area between Port Alfred and East London.
