About Malamute

There are at least two bands named Malamute: 1) Malamute is a Spanish indie pop band formed in 2018 by Cantabrian artist Irene Gutiérrez and Madrid-based artist Diego Ibáñez. They self-published their first EP in 2019 and released their first full-length album "Una Gran Decepción" in 2022 through Intromúsica. 2) Malamute are a post-everything rock and roll band from Hattiesburg, Mississippi who draw inspiration from sounds as varied as AmRep noise rock to Discipline-era prog freakouts. Formed from the ashes of An End to October, Malamute quickly recorded their "Death of the White Falcon EP" and began touring and preparing an LP. In the interim, they were signed to Acerbic Noise Development, who released their first full-length album, "Breathe Deeply, Horse". Shortly after, the band parted with founding guitarist Chips Jamison, and began pursuing a different direction, influenced more strongly by the Amphetamine Reptile roster. Other than videos posted to the bands Myspace page for new songs 'Sushi Roll', '110011011101100010101100010011100111110100100', 'Ping and 'Untitled', there has been no new information released regarding Malamute, either by the band or their label.
