Dubbed as “the Beatles of the Chinese-speaking world”, Mayday has won many awards in their career, including the Golden Melody Award for Best Band, an award given by the Taiwanese Ministry of Culture, in 2001, 2004, 2009 and 2012. 2. Mayday is a grime MC from Birmingham, UK. Crafted by himself, Mayday hails from Birmingham. Taking inspiration from garage mixes his mother used to play in his early years and infusing them with a love of international music, the 0121 native is set to bring his playful storytelling music to the world. The self-proclaimed ‘Kingstanding Captain’ is one of the most exciting prospects from the West Midlands to emerge in recent times. 3. Mayday is a Brazilian pop group formed in São Paulo in 2023. The group is known for its contemporary pop sound, combining elements of pop, R&B and electronic music, and for drawing inspiration from K-pop, particularly in its visual concept, choreography and performance-focused approach. They debuted with the single “Armadilha” in 2024, followed by the EP CICLO: Armadilha.
