About Lunatic Calm

Lunatic Calm was a UK-based electronic music group that specialized in big-beat hardcore and down-tempo trip-hop. Formed in 1996, the group consisted of Simon 'sHack' Shackleton and Howard 'Howie' Saunders. They produced several high-energy tracks and released two albums. The group is best known for their track "Leave You Far Behind", which appeared on the soundtracks of movies including "The Matrix", "Charlie's Angels", and "Mortal Kombat: Annihilation". They also created remixes for artists such as Bush, DJ Scissorkicks, and Curve. Lunatic Calm disbanded quietly following the release of "Breaking Point" in 2002, with Shackleton citing issues with record labels as a contributing factor, which had also caused delays in releasing their final album. Shackleton has continued to work in the DJ and electronic music scene under the name "Elite Force". Some of his tracks, including remixes and new material, have appeared on The Crystal Method remix albums "Community Service" and "Community Service II".
