About Luna Honey

Luna Honey draws on influences from The Birthday Party, Morphine, Nico, Swans, and early Incredible Labels: 4AD Records to combine murky bass grooves, unhinged distortion, and haunted vocals for a sound that builds from darkly hypnotic to feverishly unmoored. Their songs examine what it means to grow older, to let go of guilt, to embrace fear, and to find the balance between safety and a meaningful existence. Formed in Washington, DC in 2017, the band started out as a studio project of married duo Maura Pond and Levi Flack that was produced by Benjamin Schurr (Br'er, Swoll, Pree, BLIGHT.Records). Schurr officially joined the band when it came time to translate the studio recordings on "Peace Will Grind You Down," the band's first full album, into a live act, and was soon followed by Madeline Billhimer on baritone saxophone.
