About Lucy Love

Since the release of her debut album in 2009, the English/Danish/Zambian singer / rapper / multi-artist Lucy Love together with her producer Yo Akim, have been a special phenomenon on the Danish music scene. Their influences are from underground and mainstream, from across the decades and across the world - but crucially they are selected with an eagle eye for what works together and what represents her as a person and as an artist. The music is based on both the hard-hitting grime of the underground, the art-pop's well-thought-out subtleties and classic science fiction. A very special combination, carefully selected in an eclectic yet coherent expression which is in line with Lucy's identity as a trained artist, her English-Zambian roots and her creative upbringing from an artistic mother, a father who was a DJ and a sister who’s a dancer. Costume, video, dance and design are as important to what she does as her relentlessly hooky grooves and honest, outspoken lyrics.
