Lotus Thief from San Francisco seamlessly blend doom, black metal, post rock and ambient to create its very own musical beast. In the course of two acclaimed albums ("Rervm" in 2014, and their Prophecy debut "Gramarye" in 2016), the group's chosen purpose is gleaning meaningful insight from ancient texts such as the Roman "De Rerum Natura" or the Egyptians' "Book of the Dead". The knowledge gained is set to music that may be described best as an atmospheric yet powerful mixture of ethereal singing and feral screams, melodic and ferocious guitar work as well as symphonic and harsh synthesizers. In 2020 Lotus Thief will release a new album titled "Oresteia".
