About Lorien Testard and Alice Duport-Percier

Lorien Testard is a French composer renowned for his work on the 2025 video game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developed by Sandfall Interactive. This project marks his debut in video game composition, where he crafted an emotionally rich and cinematic soundtrack that has garnered significant attention. Testard's journey into game music began with a deep-seated passion for video game soundtracks. Over several years, he composed music independently, often sharing his pieces on SoundCloud. His dedication caught the attention of Guillaume Broche, founder of Sandfall Interactive, leading to their collaboration on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Testard worked intensively on the game's music, composing almost daily from his home studio, with feedback from the development team and soprano Alice Duport-Percier, who also contributed to the game's vocal compositions. The game's soundtrack, particularly the main theme "Alicia," has been praised for its evocative and immersive qualities. Testard described the recording sessions for "Alicia" as unforgettable and expressed gratitude for the positive reception from players and critics alike. Beyond his work on Clair Obscur, Testard co-founded a composition studio with Alice Duport-Percier. Their studio offers custom musical creations for various projects, including video games, films, and artistic installations. Testard specializes in computer-assisted music composition, aiming to create immersive soundtracks that enhance interactive and narrative experiences. His favorite games, which influence his musical style, include Zelda: Majora’s Mask, Xenoblade Chronicles, NieR: Automata, and Hollow Knight . Alice Duport-Percier grew up in a rich musical environment and began choral singing at the Saint-Priest Conservatory (Rhône) before joining the children’s choir of the Opéra de Lyon. She continued her vocal training with Claire Marbot and specialized in early music at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon. It was during her studies that she co-founded several early music ensembles—Les Kapsbergirls, Libera me, and Tenta la fuga—with fellow musicians, performing widely and releasing award-winning recordings. She also collaborated regularly with renowned ensembles such as Sequientiae, La Chapelle Harmonique, and Spirito. Alice made her operatic debut at the Händel Festival in Karlsruhe in February 2019, performing the role of Oberto in Handel’s Alcina. In May 2023, she sang the role of Amour in Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice, earning critical acclaim for her vocal performance. Alice is also passionate about musical creation and interdisciplinary arts, exploring the relationship between dance and music with the Chriki’Z Company, and composing and performing for the worlds of video games, film, and animation.
