About Liholesie

Лихолесье (Liholesie) is a folk ambient project from Novosibirsk, Russia. Its beginning is lost in a fog of time and even the only member, Sever, could not tell you the exact date. The first demo "The Eternal Call" was published in 2002 with a small circulation, though it received good response in the press. In the spring of 2004 the Ural label Stygian Crypt published the debut Liholesie album "Извечное коловращение" ("Primeval Rotation"), devoted to 'year', a wheel of time, sacrament of death and birth, an ascention and decline. In the spring of 2005 the same label published "Родные просторы" ("Vast Homeland"). In 2007, on Stygian Crypt again, a new album "Видения" ("Visions") was published. Melodies, tools used, and the sound itself vary, but as always, like with all past material, the basis of Liholesie is the 'nature', the 'heritage' and 'search'. The last Liholesie album, "Беспредельная жажда иного" ("Boundless Thirst for the Outside") was released in 2008, on Russian label Assault Rex. Official website: http://www.liholesie.com
