About Leopoldo Miguez
Leopoldo Américo Miguez (Niterói, Sep 9, 1850 — Rio de Janeiro, Jul 6, 1902) was a brazilian composer, violinist and conductor. In the begining of 1890, Miguez became the director of the National Music Institute,. Miguez more notable works are the symphonic poems 'Parisiana e Prometeu', the opera 'Saldunes' (based in Coelho Neto poetry), his Symphony in B Flat and some chamber pieces.
