About Lee Gray Blues Band
The release of Lee Grays new CD "Box Wine Woman" is the culmination of many years of musical studies, performances and song writing. As a band leader of five bands, Lee felt it was time to create a CD featuring all his original tunes that have delighted Oregon audiences for the past thirty years. Lee's comical wit and social repartee' are evident in his whimsical and satirical lyrics. Jimmy Reed's texarkana styling's, influenced lee's playing since he was nine. Later on discovering the Chicago blues, Mississippi Delta Blues and even rock-a-billy made influential changes to Lee's guitar playing and lyrical offereings. Saxaphone influences were fostered when Lee's father worked as a disc jockey in a small western Texas radio station, where lee would assist his father in spinning the vinyl singles, playing the Big Band sound for the sets. Later on having found Boots Randolf, Charlie Parker and others made lee desirours of teaching himself to play the Sax. In the early seventies Lee wrote jingles for local Los Angeles business that aired on local radio stations. More recently Lee was a featured guest on a new Canadian Food Channel Television production "Pictin' In" with Chef Lynn Crawford.
