About Laith Al-deen
Laith Al-Deen (born 20 February 1972) is a German pop singer. Born in Karlsruhe to an Iraqi father and a German mother, he spent part of his childhood in the United States and in Mannheim, West Germany. He gained initial recognition with his debut album "Ich will nur wissen" ("I Only Want to Know"), which produced the singles "Bilder von Dir" ("Pictures of You") and "Kleine Helden" ("Little Heroes"). His second album, "Melomanie," released in 2002, included the singles "Dein Lied" ("Your Song") and "Jetzt, Hier, Immer" ("Now, Here, Always") and achieved similar commercial success. Laith was nominated for the Comet music award by the German broadcaster VIVA in the Hip hop/R&B category, which he declined, stating he preferred recognition for German-language music. In 2004, Laith released the album "Für Alle" ("For Everyone"), which continued his established musical style. The album reached number one on the German album charts and marked his highest commercial success to date. The single "Alles an dir" ("Everything About You") peaked at number 21 on the German charts, and the follow-up single "Höher" ("Higher") was a finalist for Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004. Later that year, he released a live album that performed well on the German charts, followed by a DualDisc edition in September 2005 featuring the album rerecorded in 5.1 surround sound. In June 2007, Laith released the album "Die Liebe zum Detail" ("The Love for Detail") along with the single "Keine wie du" ("No One Like You"). The album reached number three on the German charts, and the single peaked at number 16 on the German singles chart.
