The two Los Angeles musical miscreants La Bouquet carve out “emotional songs you can dance to.” Siphoning bedroom-rattling RnB falsetto through post-punk soundscapes, the duo—Bryan Sammis and Drew Bruchs —exist between three worlds. “Obviously, there’s an eighties influence, but there’s also a big R+B influence,” says Bryan. “At the same time, we also come from a punk ethos. We don’t want everything to sound too perfect. We just want every note to evoke some sort of emotion.” In 2019 they released their first full length album: Sad People Dancing. In 2021 they came back with their second and last album: The Big Happy. In an Instagram post of January 24, 2023, the band announced the ending of La Bouquet. Bryan Sammis is also known as Olivver the Kid and has another project 1990nowhere together with Lostboycrow
