About LES RESPONSABLES
In english, "The Responsibles". But responsibles for what? The most adjusted answer is probably to say they are responsibles for one of the most interesting phenomena occurred inside the "gaucho"rock or even of the brazilian underground as a whole. While many bands are trying to see themselves in the next great band, listed by some London musical weekly, or trying to repeat something already done by some other band of the proper city, Les Responsables are swimming entirely against the tide. And is not any tide. Probably it would be in Côté D'azur waters in 1966 or even in a more tragic scene fallen to the edges of Seine after drink Pernod excessively. This because Les Responsables biggest sources of inspiration are the first artists to bring the intellectual bohemian for the world og french rock in sixties: the mordacious Jacques Dutronc and the controversial and brilliant Serge Gainsbourg. The band knew very well how to benefit of these influences as they show in their compositions. Le Mellotron is quick, explosive with short riffs, it's the beginning of Dutronc career having someone from The Who in the support band. Happening with the intensity of the best actual music, Monsieur Bouche is a funny pseudo-country music in a teller atmosphere. In this composition they had worked the country in a interesting way (this kind of music almost forgotten is the background of the most expessives rock bands) without loosing the atmosphere of Jean Paul Belmondo land. La vaporisation has psychedelic guitars and it's calmer. If it were a Dutronc composition, probably it would be in a second or third volume of some? and it could be a tune for the calmer moments between may 68 conflicts. Les Responsables are surely a band that deserves to be heard, above all because they know exactly what they are doing.
