Les Jeux Sont Funk’s horizon crosses various genres: bossa nova, funk, electro, broken beats. Anyway, the common denominator of his DJ-sets is the groove, that is the abstract energy releasing and emanated by body-movement. His musical selection includes as well some artists from the Berliner scene, where he has lived for some time, spinning records at clubs like Lovelite, Mudd Club and Klub der Republik. The German capital has indeed a strong point in being able to merge creatively avant-garde hints and pop-culture taste. Now he is regular at Paradiso in Trento, Dolomites. If there is a school that inspires LJSF, that school is the one known as ‘Funkology’. This philosophy, to quote one of its most famed devotees, the Vizier of Funkology himself, “aspires neither to security nor to stability, but rather to vertigo and rapture; aim of Funkology is at the same time the deviation of dreams and the fecundity of disillusion. Words like ‘dogma’ or ‘axiom’ don’t belong to the vocabulary of Funkology, under whose perspective the prejudice of the existence of an all-explicative and all-embracing Truth vanishes under a fat groove, making room for a mellower hypothesis of a flexible orientation of the mind and the body as one, while the self is even blinded by clarity”.
