About Last Train
Last Train is a French stoner/psychedelic rock band from Altkirch, Alsace. The band consists of Jean-Noël Scherrer (lead vocals, guitar and keyboards), Julien Peultier (guitar), Timothée Gerard (bass and keyboards) and Antoine Baschung (drums and keyboards). They met at school in 2007 and quickly started playing in local pubs. In June 2014, the band released their first singles, "Cold Fever" and "Fire", which kicked off a two-year tour of Europe, Asia and the USA. While on the road, they released their first EP, "The Holy Family", in 2015, followed by another EP, "Fragile", a year later. "Weathering", the band's first album, released on 7 April 2017, led them to support Placebo and play their own show at Le Bataclan. On 13 September 2019, the band released "The Big Picture", their second album, followed by a documentary about the making of the record, directed by guitarist Julien Peultier. They go on tour to promote the album, reaching their 500th concert in October 2022 at the Blackwoodstock festival. With the release of their song and short film, again directed by Julien Peultier, "How Did We Get There?", on 11 March 2022, the band continues their shift towards cinematic, orchestral rock, confirmed with the single from their forthcoming third album, "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack", a rearrangement of their song "Jane", reminiscent of "Heroin", with the Mulhouse Symphonic Orchestra. To tease the album, Last Train released a weekly 3-episode web series about the making of the album, also directed by Julien, in which the tracks of the project are slowly revealed. "Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" is scheduled for release on 17 May 2024.
