About Kydia

Being born half-deaf with Grade 3 Microtia and Aural Atresia could not stop Kydia from falling in love with music. She moved to Seattle, WA after graduation, where she provided backing vocals and instrumentation for various established local acts, and formed her own folk-pop band. Sought out by gold record-winning artists and Grammy-winning producers to collaborate on songwriting, Kydia eventually struck out on her own and began writing and performing using backing tracks she produced in her basement. In 2017, she had surgery to became bionic, receiving a titanium post implanted in her skull which allows her to attach a bone-anchored hearing aid and finally hear in stereo. Influenced by The Cure, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Depeche Mode, Ellie Goulding, Florence + The Machine, Caroline Polachek, and , AURORA her pensive singer-songwriter style has evolved from folk-tinged pop to electronic-pop. With an emphasis on nature themes, mental health, and social issues, her songs are often accentuated with layered vocal harmonies and dreamy, glittery synths. www.kydiamusic.com
