About Kristo Rodzevski

Kristo Rodzevski is a Macedonian born composer, guitarist and vocalist who has worked and lived in New York City for more than 20 years. His musical beginnings were in the ‘90s in his hometown of Bitola, with musicians who would later generate the bands Foltin and Ljubojna. The wider audience knows him from the soundtracks of the films “Shadows” and “Bikini Moon” by Milcho Manchevski, “To The Hilt” by Stole Popov and “The War Is Over” by Mitko Panov, as well as his collaboration with Duke Bojadziev. In the creation and recording of his own album trilogy: “Batania” (2015), “Bitter Almonds” (2017) and “The Rabbit And The Fallen Sycamore” (2018), Rodzevski has collaborated with some of the most exciting musicians from New York’s avant-jazz scene: Mary Halvorson (guitar), Taylor Ho Bynum (cornet), Tomeka Reid (cello), Ingrid Laubrock (tenor saxophone), Kirk Knuffke (cornet), Kris Davis (piano), Chris Speed (tenor saxophone), Brian Drye (trombone), Michael Blanco (double bass), and Tomas Fujiwara (drums). These three records received excellent reviews and accolades from the international music critics, and his last album was selected as one of the best releases of 2018 by the renowned music magazines “Downbeat” and “Wire”.
