About Kolm

Kolm is a progressive rock band from Los Angeles, consisting of Giorg Yela (Vocals/Guitar/Electronics), Mikal Baker (Drums/Electronics), and Ben Taylor (Bass). The band blends immersive soundscapes, complex rhythms, and layered riffs into evolving musical journeys. Formed in 2010 by longtime collaborators Giorg Yela and Mikal Baker, Kolm began through a series of exploratory sessions that soon developed into a multidimensional creative project. With influences spanning progressive rock, ambient electronics, psychedelic textures, world instrumentation, and melodic vocals, Kolm crafts music that rewards close listening and emotional depth. Their debut album Umbra was self-produced and released independently in 2018. From 2012 to 2019, bassist Tas Limur was instrumental in shaping that record and supporting its early momentum. In 2024, Ben Taylor joined the band on bass, contributing to Kolm’s next chapter. With a new single arriving in late 2025 and their second full-length album set for release in early 2026, Kolm continues to evolve their sound, exploring the balance between heaviness and atmosphere, structure and improvisation, clarity and mystery.
