About Kick Bong
A bit of history… At the age of 12 Franck meets music and discovers drums and percussions. In the 90’s, he joins his first pop/rock band “Romy et les Gateaux secs” as a drummer and they soon will sign on with Barclay recording company for three LPs. He quickly learns the tricks of the trade thanks to numerous live concerts and tours in France and Belgium. In 1995, he changes his way when discovering electro-music which will come to enrich his musical universe. Kick Bong then starts to compose in his own recently set up home-studio. As of 2001, his tracks fast catch people’s attention and 17 of his compositions are released on some compilations for several labels (Spirit Zone, Candyflip, Clima, Peak, Hoots, Cosmicleaf, Chillcode, Ajana, Hadra, Sonic Motion, Blue hour sounds, Another chance records et Ultra vista). Soon after he meets the Confluent Association that is seduced by the cinematic dimension of its compositions and orders him a music between ambient, dub and jungle styles for the documentary “Démarches de rues”. He also composes some tracks for Dior and Eden Park web sites. Parallel to his activities as a musician, he mixed with Dj Holls, founder of Clima Records, in many Parisian clubs : le Batofar, le Tryptique, le Divan du monde, le Gibus, le Glaz’art… Quickly remarked for the quality of his shows, he starts from 2005 to be booked for some live gigs and dj sets in clubs and festivals all around Europe. A few dates and references... Drummer and percussionist 1998 Serious Bass Drums and percussions in this band that stands between funk and house music. Live concerts in Paris : Opus Café – Flèche d’Or … 1999 Tarace Boulba Percussions in this famous « Funk Fanfare » 2002 Marabunta, Drums and percussions (soul, funk, house). Many concerts : Club Med World – Opus Café – Show Case Fnac – track played on FG Radio as well as featuring on the Dancefloor FG Summer 2003 Compilation 2003, collectif Secret Vibes et LDB system, Drums and percussions (ethno-trance) Release of the album Secret Vibes Fire Fly (Goaty prod) Live concerts in Paris : le Glaz'art, la Loco, le Batofar, La Dame de Canton, le Cabaret Sauvage, le Triptyque, le Gibus. European tours : Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Morocco and France. 2010 Canove, Drums and percussions (Pop Rock) recording an album, released in 2012 + upcoming events. 2012 : Triptone my new project is coming! DJ Set and Lives...
