About Kate Cosco
Kate Cosco began studying classical piano at the age of five and continued her formal music education through college, where at Indiana University she received a degree in piano and audio engineering. She has also completed a master's degree in jazz piano performance at the University of Memphis. Her early professional experience ranged from jazz pianist in many clubs, including casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas, and luxury hotels in Chicago, Philadelphia, Memphis, and Manhattan, to a notable engagement traveling with the Four Tops. She has played numerous shows with with many well-known artists, including Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Thelma Houston, Little Anthony and the Imperials, the Coasters, the Chiffons, Lesley Gore (It's My Party), Ben E. King, Peggy March (My Boyfriend's Back), Jerry Van Dyke, Charo, Jack Sheldon, Billy Swan (I Can Help), Clint Holmes (My Name is Michael), and Billy Eckstein. Kate has also performed on many occasions with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. Under the direction of Alan Balter she performed with the Mercedes Ellington "Tribute to Duke Ellington" show; she also has performed orchestra shows under the direction of Bill Conti and Michael Berkowitz. She was engaged as the musical director of the "Tribute to the Rat Pack" show at Goldstrike Casino in Tunica, MS. In New York City, she has performed on many occasions as the keyboardist/leader for Tony and Tina's Wedding at The Edison Hotel on 46th St. and Broadway. Currently, Kate freelances as an in-demand jazz pianist across the tri-state area in addition to performing regularly at the Hotel Giraffe in NYC.
