About Justin Bennett
Justin Bennett Born: UK, 1964. Justin Bennett is an artist and composer working with sound and visual media. While living in Sheffield in the 1980's he played with bands such as Hula, Fabricata Illuminata, and TAGC. Since 1989 he lives in the Netherlands. Bennett is best known for his work with field recordings, which he uses to create installations, soundwalks, CD-releases and live performances. Much of his work is concerned with urban space and the relationship of sound to place. In the last few years he worked with GEM Den Haag, the CCS, Paris, the Guangzhou Triennial, Istanbul Biennial, moorroom Roma, Sonic Arts Network, UK. Much of his work is released on, and available online from his own Spore Records label. He recently collaborated on a project with Ronny Heiremans and Katleen Vermeer: http://www.thegoodlife-collection.com/ and is currently working on some soundwalk pieces. He collaborates with, among others, BMB con., Renate Zentschnig, Grand Mal, 242.pilots.
