John Cummings

About John Cummings

When two brothers are so in tune with each other's thinking, anything they sing and play turns to gold. One late night, returning home drunk, John Cummings entered Jim's room, and what ensued will go down in music history. The song "waterpark" was recorded in one session, with Jim on guitar and John lending his vocals. John, known for his improvisations and impressions, hit the mark dead on, with his nostalgic ode to high school memories of going to Blue Bayou, near Baton Rouge. What starts as an innocent song of summer love and carelessness, takes a turn to the left as he suprises all, with his lyric, "CAMELTOE." And then he begins to entertain his sexual appetite of the "toe." This raw, studio-session, no edit no gloss, song reminds listeners of Beach Boys, with the feeling of summer and John's melodic voice, disregard the lyrics, or the song "Jamie" by Weezer, with its acoustic repetition and raw, studio feel. John Cummings is also the birth name of Ramones guitarist Johnny Ramone.
